The award is based solely on employee feedback via Glassdoor's anonymous online survey, where employees were asked to rate their company based on career opportunities, compensation, benefits, work/life balance and senior management, as well as culture and values.

Currently on Glassdoor, Zillow has an overall four out of five stars. Zillow's Glassdoor profile also reveals that culture and values, senior management, and compensation/benefits are among the top ranked characteristics among employees, with a noteworthy 4.2 out of five stars. Work/life balance is a close second with 3.9 out of five stars.

Methodology

Glassdoor's Best Places to Work are determined using company reviews shared by U.S. based employees who elected to participate in the survey between November 13, 2013 and November 2, 2014. To be considered for the large category, a company must have at least 1,000 or more employees and have received at least 50 company reviews from U.S.-based employees during the window of eligibility. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor's proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
